Bill Jackson

Bill Jackson passed away in June, 2015, following complications that developed from a kidney transplant that Betsy his wife lovingly provided, and which gave him a fresh lease on life for many years. In the last few years he endured considerable levels of pain, yet continued to serve faithfully in his ministry of writing and teaching.

Bill (his friends call him Jax) received his B.A. from Wheaton College, his M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Seminary, and his D.Miss. from Fuller Seminary. He started two Campus Life clubs when he got out of college, was involved in planting five churches with the Vineyard and pastored in three others. Always keeping his hands in education Bill directed four schools along the way.

He served as an adjunct professor at St. Stephen’s University in New Brunswick, Canada and a teaching elder at Inland Vineyard in Corona. He taught two courses for Vineyard Institute, this one and one on Church History. In 2004 he started a non-profit corporation called Radical Middle Ministries as a platform for his teaching and writing. He was the author of numerous papers, courses and articles and wrote six books: The Quest for the Radical Middle: A History of the Vineyard; NothinsGonnaStopIt! The Storyline of the Bible (revised as The Biblical Metanarrative: One God, One Plan, One Story); The Eden Project: the Bible as a Short Story; and A History of the Christian Church, Book 1: AD 70-1730. Due to his passing, we will not be able to benefit from Book 2, or many other manuscripts he was planning to publish.

Bill was a well-traveled conference and seminar speaker whose specialty was teaching the storyline of the Bible and teaching and modeling the in-break of the kingdom of God through the work of the Holy Spirit, especially healing the sick.
