In this course Derek Morphew draws a picture of the modern Western worldview and its origins, especially concerning sexual identity. He shows the influence of ancient and contemporary gnosticism on the modern mindset and also draws on the work of Carl Trueman and his book The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self. Morphew closes with some pastoral implications for the church today.
